Terry W. West

Terry is the senior partner of The West Law Firm. Terry was born in Ada, Oklahoma and grew up in the small railroad town of Francis, just north of Ada. He graduated high school in 1956 at the top of his class (which was not too difficult, given there were nine students in the class and his mother was the teacher). Terry attended East Central University and then transferred to the University of Oklahoma. He later attended the University of Tulsa Law School's night school program where he served as the managing editor of the Tulsa Law Review and graduated with his L.L.B. in 1966.
Terry has been a member of the Oklahoma Trial Lawyers Association since 1968 and has served as the organization's president twice (1973 and 1988). He has been involved equally as long in the American Association of Justice (formerly the Association of Trial Lawyers of America) and served on the ATLA Board of Governors from 1974-1977.
An Oklahoma Bar Association member for 50+ years, Terry served on the OBA Board of Governors from 1987-1989, has twice served on the Judicial Nominating Committee, and has been appointed by the Oklahoma Supreme Court to serve on standing committees for the Preparation of the Oklahoma Uniform Civil Jury Instructions, the Committee on Judicial Evaluation and the Committee on Civility and Professionalism. He currently is general counsel to the Oklahoma Counsel on Judicial Complaints. Terry’s practice is 100 percent devoted to litigation.

Terry has mentored many Oklahoma lawyers, some who have gone on to become District Court Judges, Appellate Court Judges (both state and federal), and Oklahoma Supreme Court Justices. Terry has also served on the board of Sarkeys Foundation for 24 years.
