Brad West Participates in $1.4 Million Settlement, Compensating Young Victims

Brad West of The West Law Firm recently participated in a successful $1.4 million settlement in a civil suit that follows an earlier criminal conviction against a former McLoud Public School teacher. For more than a year, the teacher victimized 14 young female students, taking inappropriate photos and sharing them outside the school. Brad West represented two of the 14 students, and he and other attorneys associated with the civil case reached a settlement in which each student in the suit would receive approximately $100,000 in compensation.


West Lawyers Named to "Super Lawyers" List; Terry West Receives Special Recognition

In 2015, for the 10th consecutive year, Terry West and Brad West of Shawnee's The West Law Firm were selected for the national "Super Lawyers" list, an annual listing of top lawyers comprised of no more than five percent of the practicing attorneys in Oklahoma and in each state throughout the U.S. This year, Terry West was named for the fifth time to the top 50 Super Lawyers in Oklahoma and he was featured in the 2015 issue of Oklahoma Super Lawyers Magazine.


Salvation Army Coat Donation Program

In 2015, The West Law Firm celebrated the seventh year of its "Coat Donation Program" with The Salvation Army of Shawnee. Since 2009, the firm has annually contributed new coats for those in need in Shawnee and Pottawatomie County. Each year, since the beginning of this program, the firm has increased the total number of coats donated through The Salvation Army. According to Donna Rogers, who coordinates the program for the firm, more than 1,700 new coats have been donated over the seven-year period.


Brad West Named Secretary of ABOTA Chapter of Oklahoma

The West Law Firm Partner, Brad West, has been named as Secretary for the Oklahoma Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) for calendar year 2015. ABOTA is a national organization whose membership is by invitation only and is based upon an attorney's trial experience, integrity, and reputation. Its primary goal is to educate the public about the importance of the trial by jury system in America.

The West Law Firm was named among the best law firms in America in the 2016 "Best Law Firms" list by U.S. News & World Report magazine and Best Lawyers®, a 30-year-old national legal ranking service and producer of the annual Best Lawyers in America© list. The West Law Firm was the only firm in Shawnee, Oklahoma to be named to this high-profile national list. In addition, West Law Firm Founder Terry West has been included in the annual Best Lawyers® list since 1995.


Project Safe Recognizes Terry West

Terry West was recently recognized with a service award by "Project Safe" (PS) for his dedicated nine-year support and financial contributions to the Shawnee-based, non-profit organization which provides shelter and other services for victims of domestic violence. PS Auxiliary President Kaye Steele Harrod, who organized the annual fundraising program, said West's donations have totaled thousands of dollars, which have been used for the vital services provided by "Project Safe."
