J. Shawn Spencer

Shawn’s practice is limited to trial work representing injured people in tractor trailer, automobile, medical negligence, defective products, and class action litigation. He has worked with, and against, some of the finest trial lawyers. He has skillfully litigated and recovered millions of dollars for individuals and their families for injury or death caused by the negligence of others.

Shawn attended the University of Arkansas School of Law where he wrote a top paper in his legal research and writing section and participated in Moot Court. After graduating law school, he began his legal career defending large corporations, but quickly realized he would much rather represent people. As a result, in 1999 Shawn began practicing with a prominent Fort Smith attorney representing injured people and small businesses in Oklahoma and Arkansas.

Shawn has been practicing with nationally recognized attorneys at The West Law Firm since 2008. The West Law Firm is highly skilled and experienced in prosecuting complex injury and class action cases. Shawn is licensed to practice in all state and federal courts in Oklahoma and Arkansas and has tried cases throughout both states. He also appears pro hac vice in other state and federal courts when necessary. He has been voted one of the “Top 100 Trial Lawyers” by The National Trial Lawyers and voted an “Oklahoma Super Lawyer” since 2016.
